My name is Allysn, and I have been married to a really wonderful guy since 2004. I graduated from Emporia State University with a Master of Library Science degree in 2010 and have no idea what I'll do with it. You know how it is plans change. We're awaiting our first family addition in February of 2011.
We are in our second home which is on ten acres. I'll have to admit I was skeptical at first. I grew up in an urban area while my husband was raised on a hog farm in Iowa. So yes, we are from two very different worlds, but this wasn't too far of a stretch for me. I used to spend good chunk of my summers with my grandma at the lake. She has property and used to raise chickens, geese, and peacocks.
I have to say one of the reasons why I'm so thrifty is because of my grandma. She was born in 1923 in Oklahoma. Growing up during the Dust Bowl and Great Depression made her live through many hard times. I saw how thrifty she is and how financially comfortably she still is even after being retired for over twenty five years.
I love cooking, baking, crafting, sewing, and creating. Basically anything I can create that people will enjoy will make me happy. I'm thinking about being a stay at home mom with our first little one on the way, and that has made me think about a whole new set of projects.
